OcyonBio, a company dedicated to the research and development of cell and genetic treatments in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, will hold a Gene & Cell Therapy Webinar event next Thursday, June 16, 2022. The free of charge event which will be held both, in person and virtually, at the Sheraton Convention Center in San Juan.
The event is oriented toward professionals with expertise in the areas of science, engineering, biotechnology, biosimilar production, and maintenance, interested in better understanding the company’s operations on the island.
Once fully operational, OcyonBio will become the sixth cell and gene therapy hub in the world for research and development of treatments and cures for different types of cancer, and other degenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s. The company seeks to include local scientific and technical talent in its operation.
According to Robert Salcedo, OcyonBio’s CEO, the company’s business model is hybrid, since OcyonBio can offer its clients laboratory facilities for research and development using its own human resources, or “rent” them its laboratories, equipped with the highest biotechnology, storage of biological products, sterile rooms and meeting and office space.
